Maybe He Can Jump, Too! ELMONT, L. I., N. Y.. June 20— For the last half century, the Widener colors have been prominent in steeplechasing. So, last year, when Mrs. P. A. B. Widener II., wished representation in the field department, her husband suggested that she take her pick of the then budding two-year-old3 that had been bred at Elmendorf. Mrs. Widenere trainer, Morris Dixon, was sent to the Kentucky farm to select what he considered a likely steeplechase type. He chose Polynesian, the Preakness winner.
