BERT G. improved liis position under steady urging, came to SIN LEE in the stretch and was drawing away at the finish. SIN LEE saved ground while racing with the first flight, drew away approaching the stretch but could not hold off the winner. SQUADRON GIRL contributed to POLITICS defeat, appeared momentarily as though moving to the front, then faltered. POLITICS was used setting the early pace under pressure. PARK AVENUE had no mishaps. FORE ROYAL closed some ground too iate. CADET DICK was unable to improve his position. MONIGHAN was done early. ANGLE BAR flattened out. Overweight — Squadron Girl, 1 pound. M. moved to the pace from along the rail, was hard put to overhaul SPARE THE ROD and, once bi command, was kept under a drive to the finish. SPARE THE ROD had the most speed under pressure from the start and gave way stubbornly. FURENUF, outrun early, rushed up from along the rail in the drive but could not threaten. LADY STARDUST went with the pace for three furlongs. BRIGHT TRACK could not keep up while racing from the outside. ALCHANC showed nothing. Claimed— Spare the Rod by R. E. Leslie; Bright Trace by J. MEL McCREADY, away well but allowed to drop slightly off the pace, rushed up in the drive but could not menace. HIGH HOPE came up from along the rail in the stretch, but could not threaten. MISTUCKY, steadied early, moved when ready, subdued faltering ONE LINK approaching the stretch and held off IDLE SUN under steady handling. IDLE SUN, allowed to remain off the pace early, improved hn position from the outside, swung to the rail for the drive and might have been closer but for having to make up too much ground. ONE LINK overhauled ASK ME under urging and set the pace as far as he could. HERES HARVEY had no mishaps. ASK ME was used showing the way early. Claimed— Idle Sun by R. E.
