TLEY TOY improved her position on the inside, overtook SHOUT ABOUT and JOHN Q. PUBLIC in the stretch and got up to win near the end. SHOUT ABOUT was hard urged to reach JOHN Q. PlBLIC, responded for the drive and failed to last. JOHN Q. PUBLIC took command on the outside, but gave wav stubbornlv. DIMIT tired in the stretch. DARBY DEIRDRE lacked speed. JINX, away slowly, worked his way to the leaders from the inside after entering the stretch, swerved through the last twenty feet and thereby apparently caused AGRARIAN-U to fall. NINE R. TRAIN outbroke the field, was displaced by AGRARIAN-U. but held on stubbornly. CONTROVERSY came up from along the rail and was lucky to avoid interference by the fallen horse. FAY FOO, unable to menace, was knocked off stride while being steered away from AGRARIAN-U and lost his rider at the finish. LASTING PEACE was not a serious factor. AGRARIAN-U outsprinted the field, tired in the drive and was caused to fall by MR. JINX I welling n the closing strides. Overweight — Mr. Jinx. 2 pounds; Wee One, 5. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. YANK BOMBER, huslled to the front, was always hard put and outlasted MILK FLIP. The latter, aLso hustled forward and likewise hard put, tired in the drive and just lasted for the place. SUN BY, away slowly, rounded his field and, although hard urged, could not menace. LATE THREAD also came from far back, made a brief rush rounding the far turn, then faltered. EDIE JANE showed nothing. ALUMONT raced on the outside and could not keep up. KANTAR RUN was done earlv. DAVITT, in close early, moved up on the turn and then tired Scratched— 76818 Boris N., 112. BELL CALL moved quickly to the lead, was steadied while showing the way and, responding for the drive, held otf WAR COMMUNIQUE. The latter, hard put to remain prominent early, field on and finished best of the others, though unable to threaten the winner. MAGNESIUM, slow to get started, closed stronglv. TIMELY FLIGHT, forwardly plactd for the first half, gave way thereafter. PROSPECT BOY had no mishaps. HASTY BROOK was used lip trying to go with the early pace. BRADWIN showed nothing. COLOR WEEK, in close early, dropped back and could not again menace. Attendance, 11,971; Total Mutuel Pool, 90,758. Returned to Public, 51,683, Less Breakage.
