Shelby Clarks Big Desire CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 2. — Jockey Shelby Clark will experience the thrill of riding in his first Kentucky Derby when he pilots the New Orleans sportsmans, W. O. Hells Cosmic Bomb, in the classic. His most urgent desire since becoming a rider has been to compete in the Derby, but the closest he ever came to it was when he rode Take Away in the Derby Trial in 1942. The speedy colt was declared from the big race at the last moment. Clark believes the Helis banner bearer will be fit for the gruelling contest. Clarks wife will view the big race from the clubhouse.
