Horses to Watch Horses who impressed Daily Racing Form representatives as being ready to win: SPORTSMANS PARK T DARBY DEIRDRE — Finished fast from a slow beginning in recent third. Needs only more early speed to beat ,500 sprint company. LIGHT REIGH— The son of Reigh Count won so easily that he can be expected to repeat it. WHISCENDENT — Missed a close decision when well meant in recent second. Connections will find another spot. BOLD LUCY— A ,000 sprinter who has good early speed and should last long enough soon. BESSIE VANCE — Did not appear to fancy the slow track recently. Has nice speed and is right on edge. SUNWISE — Closed a good gap from a slow beginning to be second recently. Will do with ,000 opposition in a sprint. DIZZY HEIGHTS — Missed a close decision in recent distance test and will be sent back against similar opponents. COUNT QUICK— Is fit and ready now and is under clever supervision who will find suitable placing. CREDENTIALS — Ben Fogelson has this one coming up to a winning performance; tab. SUPER MARINES— A beaten favorite who will make amends. Is quite sharp just now. BETTY SKELLY — This three-year-old miss has been tabbed for an early score by the dockers. STARGOO— Weakened to be third in recent distance test and should last long enough next trip. MARCHING FEET— Gave evidence that he was in peak shape in recent second and should move up a notch soon. CHURCHiLl" DOWNS PHAR MON — Training smartly for his Bashford Manor Stakes engagement and is one of the best Juveniles shown in Kentucky this spring. DEVILSAND — Ran an excellent race in the mud and he is capable of defeating ,000 class platers at one and one-sixteenth miles. BISHOP — Gave good performance in Questionnaire Purse and is due for early graduation victory. BIG BROTHER, — Closed strongly after a slow beginning in The Porter Purse and can whip same kind with equal break in racing luck. AWAY — Useful plater is in smart hands and is ready to turn back a field of ,500 class routers. SANDSLINGERFinished very fast behind Uncle Otho in the Sun Briar Purse and probably will improve off that effort. DELHANNAH— Quick three-year-old filly was narrowly beaten by Hipparete in her initial outing and she can handle muddy or dry footing. MISS VIKING— Displayed good speed in her recent starts and works have been impressive since arrival here. PREOCCUPY— Well bred and is reaching peak form, working six furlongs in 1:15 over muddy strip. HIGH EGO — Fast sprinter has been meeting good company and is reported ready by the clocking staff. SWEET COMET— Narrowly beaten in recent six furlongs sprint and should make amends for that reversal against same class. GEE WHIZ— Is one of the better two-year-olds in training here and is eligible to good spot. TETRAMORE — Useful plater can handle wet or dry racing strip and belongs with very cheap company. JOES CHOICE— Turned in good performance first time out here this spring and appears to be reaching peak form. DON DEVITO — Victim of bad racing luck when beaten in last local start and is capable of whipping same field. FREE AMERICAN — Is training satisfactorily and may graduate next time out. DIAMOND DICK— Raced well in only start here and prefers a fast track for his best effort. ROY JAY— Trifle short when defeated in mile and one-sixteenth event but that race should serve as tightener for winning trip. PIMUCO CASH — Won jumping race last ueek in such clever style that he rates good chance to repeat. CASH O. BOY— His old habit of lugging in was the cause of this one lacking racing room throughout the stretch run of his last. BLUE DREAM — Capable of winning a route race, especially if dropped a trifle. PAPETE— Had no chance last time out when knocked back several times during the running. BAD LIGHT— May have been a trifle short in racing debut. Should graduate early if kept in the claiming ranks. IN FRAGANTI— This ones last race should not be taken too seriously as much better can be expected. OUR CANDIDATE— Can do much better than lone 1947 outing would suggest. A slight drop may be needed. MT. AIRY — A return to her old barn may make a marked improvement in this filly. DETECTION— Appeared to pull himself up while holding a commanding advan-i tage in his last race. BELMONT PARK CHANCE MATE— This plater under stouter handling could win a distance event in cheap company. MR. DODO — This one is better suited at route and may surprise in cheap company. GOLDEN SCOTCH— Ran out rounding first turn in last start. May do better under different rider. SISLLKE — Showed a flash of speed in debut and may improve over that effort. DONT QUOTE ME— This one may race in improved fashion down the straightaway. COMANCHE PEAK— Had no chance with the start in last effort. Likes muddy going and is ready. ROMAN ROAD — Was knocked out of contention last time out. That race can be disregarded. STAR BOUT — Encountered interference in last start. This one is on edge. BEST BOOT — Had a flash of speed in debut and improvement can be anticipated. CEST TOUT— Turned in a fair effort in seasonal debut and may improve with racing. c TALON — Last race much below best form on this one. Improvement must be anticipated before long. BLONDE MAGIC — A drop in classification will help this one. OUR TOMMY — Improvement can be anticipated in near future from this one. BUT WHY NOT— A better-than-average miss who should be a factor in top races for her sex. FREEZOUT— This fellow is at peak form and should add another purse to his record before long. CALVADOS — With a race under his belt this fellow should be a factor in own classification. suffolkIdowns OVER ICE— This steady fellow is at peak form but has been unfortunate in recent two starts. Needs only a fair shake in luck to win. HERES ME— A better-than-average filly that showed a good effort in her first start in two months. Is capable of handling the best. MUG — A cheap sprinter that will locate a field he will lead from start to finish. Was dead short in last. STEEPLE— A fleet colt that will benefit from his lone outing at local course. BARUNA — Closed a big gap in recent sprint to indicate he is ready for a distance number. SUN CLOCK — Comes from a winning barn and in present form should not tarry too long from the winners circle. CABOSH — Lone start was good enough to point out the possibilities of this one. Gave way in final yards after setting pace and may have been in need of the race. JET PLANE— A recent claim that should loose no time in rewarding her new owners. Is as fit as hands can make her. QUIEN ES — This once classy sprinter is doing all asked of him during early morning trials. Tab for early victory. GREMLIN— There is one in the book for the Gallant Fox gelding at a mile or better. SON OF HEELS— A ,000 plater that is rounding to top form. Is better than last would indicate. CONNIE SAM— This juvenile showed decided improvement in his most recent effort to indicate a winning race should be at hand. LEAVETAKING — Has trained especially well since finishing unplaced for ,000. Needs only to run back to works. CHRISTMASTIDE; — Lone effort was fairly good and she may possess enough speed to warrant selection in Pimlico Breeders Stakes. FROZEN CUSTARD— Now that this one has graduated from the maiden ranks he may reach the winners circle on several occasions. ROYAL GOVERNOR— Was not made eligible for the Derby or Preakness, but appears to have the Survivor Stakes at his mercy. NATCHEZ — Retains peak form and will be a hard horse to beat in the Dixie, regardless of toppers due to arrive.
