RUSTY FLYER sprinted into a commanding lead in the opening furlong and was not threatened while winning rather easily. PLAYER LEE rallied mildly, but was no match for the winner. SINCON rallied from far back in a good effort. PLAY FOOT pressed the pace much of the way and drifted out slightly nearing the finish. VALCOEUR AIME raced evenly. SPLIT WAVE showed nothing. OCEAN FRONT, steadied within easy striking distance of the leaders, rallied to assume the lead from the outside and drew clear under mild urging. REPRODUCTION was always a forward factor and held on well in the drive. SECOND TRY attained the lead on the final turn and weakened. GUIGNOL was shuffled about badly during the early stages and closed with good energy. JOHNNIE C. moved menacingly on the final turn and hung. POMPEYS SONG weakened. LEPRECHAUN quit to a walk. ADAPTABLE, under stout restraint and fencing well while following the pace, assumed command easily after the fourteenth fence and won as rider pleased. GENANCOKE, steadied early, assumed command after about ten fences, but was no match for the winner. GALA REIGH was much the best of the others, but was no match for the top ones. BIG THREE was rank while holding a commanding early advantage and quit badly. DRINTOWN was outrun and landed badly at the thirteenth jump TIMBER TOURIST fenced poorly and lost rider at the thirteenth fence. Scratched— Most Secret, 130; 220342 Grand Prince II., 144. FLASH BURN, prominently placed from the outset, drifted out slightly while assuming the lead entering the stretch and withstood the late drive of STATESMAN. The latter, under restraint while following the pace, rallied well on the outside, was forced to circle FLASH BURN and just failed to get up. DETECTION was not made too much use of early, was rallying nicely during the stretch run, but was prevented from doing his best briefly when lacking room on the inside near the seventy-yard pole. GORGET saved ground while racing with the pace, assumed a slight lead briefly and tired. ALEXIS, hard pressed while setting the pace, faltered through the stretch. MAHOUT caught tired horses. GEORGE CASE tired. TURBINE was always far back and had no apparent excuse. TRYMENOW was outrun. Scratched— 19771 Pujante, 115; 22039 Dog 0 Sullivan. 108. Overweight— Detection, 1 pound. MASTERDOM rallied willingly after a half, was on the outside during the final test and outfinished his opposition. RED SCOUT was always a forward factor, assumed the lead on the final turn and just missed while holding on tenaciously. SWING SHIFT, in close quarters repeatedly while being ridden with poor judgment, still lacked room during the drive and showed a good effort. SAXONIAN rallied from far back and came back decidedly lame. MATAKOM failed to rally. STROLLING DON was hard held while racing with the pace and flattened out when placed to pressure. PATTY KNOT, well rated while just off the leader, was hustled into a commanding lead on the final turn and lasted for a dead-heat. STAR BACK rallied mildly, but was not good enough. BONRIDGE closed willingly on the inside. OUR BLEN weakened. SMOKE PUFF showed nothing. RICHMOND BELLE was outrun. FREE SPEECH went lame in the race. HAWKWOOD ARESS quit to a walk.
