CATNIP HILL steadily improved his position while saving ground, slipped through on the inside to reach the lead inside the stretch and drew clear when ridden out. MASICO LAD worked his way forward on the outside, but under punishment could not withstand the winner. TINTINA made the pace to the stretch, then flattened out T0LECA lacked a rally. COUNTESS RUTH had no mishap. KINGS WEAPON was outrun. RICHW00D BOY raced wide throughout UNCLE DREW saved ground to no avail. TRANQUIL TIDE was never a threat. 0URBERRA quit. SKY TRAIN, in hand to the last three-eighths, finished well on the extreme outside, but could not menace the winner although much the best of the others. LIMERICK BOY lacked early speed. THUNDER HOOF went to the front early, made the pace to the upper turn while engaging OPENING DAY, then tired. R0YAT could not keep up. COUNT GOLD had brief speed. MELVIN was never prominent.
