GAY TEMPO was sent to the front immediately after the start and maintained her advantage thereafter under brisk urging. SWEET PICK, never far back, came over sharply on KIRBY F. nearing the sixteenth marker, was disqualified for fouling and placed fourth. LYCEUM steadily improved her position between horses, but lacked a convincing rally. KIBBY F. raced in nearest attendance to the winner, was impeded greatly by SWEET PICK Inside the stretch and failed to recover. FLEUR DELIS had no apparent excuse. LOST ANGEL began alertly, but failed to stay. MISS CANASTA and PRINCESS PRIM were never prominent. WISE PROPHECY was always outrun. SING TU LEE and the others showed nothing. PHASTARIS, away alertly, held a clear lead when settled for the stretch run and, under stem punishment, held TIME ETERNAL safe. The latter raced closest to the winner and although unable to overtake the latter, was easily best of the others.-ONE PLAY raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. WESTERN FRONT came out for the drive, but was not good enough. DEANNA came between horses for the final test, but could not get to the top ones. DEBABY, fractious at the post, was through early during the running. NEAT AND TIDY was forced to take up leaving the gate and lost all chance. TWEEN MEALS was outrun. UNEQUAL raced wide. WATCH STEP was never a threat. DID PLAY failed to enter contention. OLEA trailed throughout. HARD HITTER reached the lead nearing the three-sixteenths marker, tired under punishment and could not hold the winner. VIVANTE rallied too late to seriously menace the leaders. MEDIATE moved up boldly when settled for the drive. B B TEDDY passed tiring horses. HOD CARRIER was much used early and had little left. GABY HAUGH was never a threat. LINDA JANE quit. PASS KEY, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead when settled in the. stretch, but could not withstand the winner, although much the best of the others. BEE AND BEE raced evenly until inside the stretch, then faltered. DOG LEG was unable to better her position when set down in the drive. NEVER STOP, on the outside throughout, never was dangerous. JOAN AGAIN raced wide. WATER WAIF was outrun. TRES JOLIE assumed command at the start, made the pace to the stretch while engaging PASS KEY, then tired. PERMANENCE could not keep up. DONKE SERENADE disposed of SENECAS PESTY when ready, opened a commanding lead and though tiring during the late stages, had enough left to prevail over LOT 0 LUCK. The latter, outrun early, hit the inside fence with his left stifle, while tiring during the stretch run, could not reach the winner, then worked out a full mile in 1:38%. LASTING WAY made up some ground when placed to the drive. MR. DINK lacked speed, then caught tiring horses during the stretch run. DIREGENTE had no apparent excuse. BILLCELLA, much used racing FLATBUSH into defeat continued willingly through the stretch, but could not hold the winner. FRERE JACQUES, in tight quarters at the upper turn, raced well when clear, but was not good enough for the top ones. FLATBUSH raced with BILLCELLA until inside the stretch, then weakened. BROAD BACK, a keen factor from the start, assumed command when settled in the stretch and drew clear when ridden out SCHOLAR TIME, saving ground throughout, finished well under urging, but was not good enough for the winner. HALCYON BLUE much used racing the leader into defeat, reached the front entering the stretch, then faltered. JUNE AYR reserved to the stretch, moved Into a good position when settled for the drive, but weakened while under brisk urging. SUNAWAY lacked early speed. NIGHT CRAWLER drifted out badly during the stretch run. FOXY PATE was outrun. MAJOR NICK could not keep up after showing early speed. PLAY SURE set the pace for a half mile then gave way. CHOPPY SEA was through early.
