Canada to Announce Site Of British Empire Games MONTREAL, Quebec, May 12 UP. — The site of the 1954 British Empire Games, which will be held in a Canadian City, will be announced in Winnipeg within the next few days, Amateur Athletic Union officials said today. Col. George C. Machum, Canadian A.A.U. president, refused to confirm a report that Vancouver, B. C, had been given the inside track over the other three bidders, Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa. Machum said a committee of 25, distributed across Canada, would notify secretary Kenneth Yost in Winnipeg of their individual selections for the games site, and he would announce their majority decision, j
