DOVER ROAD, steadied when unable to outrun WYE CARE for the lead, assumed command along the backstretch, but weakened in the final test BROTHER WILLIE Improved his position along the inside on the final turn, then lacked a closing rally after securing sufficient room to move through. TUFTON flattened out in the drive. WORLDWIN was sore-going. REPAND caught tired horses. SMOKE PUFF showed nothing. WYE CARE quit to a walk. ARIEL SWEEP sprinted to the front early, disposed of SUNDAY BEAU to attain a clear advantage and withstood the extended drive of VIM. The latter raced forwardly from the start and fought it out willingly. CAVENDISH rallied boldly to loom a threat in the early stretch, then was unable to menace the top pair. WANIMA improved her position nicely to reach the first flight entering the stretch, then weakened. PARAMOUNT rallied too late. SUNDAY BEAU quit after pressing the pace. TUMBLE BOY was outrun.
