M. Wolf; bred by R. J. Walden. WENT TO POST-5:01. OFF AT 5:01 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. CROSS DUCHESS steadily improved her position to the stretch, assumed command when sent up on the outside for the drive and lasted to hold TAKE WING safe. The latter, outrun to the final quarter, responded readily when set down through the stretch, but could not overtake the winner. TEMPORARY went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. MISS G0LIGHTLY failed to stay when set down in the drive. CALLADICO was bumped at the first turn by DO-DO, recovered and raced evenly to the stretch before tiring. LEO RED began fast, but could not keep up. DO-DO had early speed, but failed to stay. Creech; bred by J. H. Rouse. WENT TO POST-5:30. OFF AT 5:30 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start poor from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. SUGAR BEET went to the front early, steadily increased his advantage to the stretch and, responding when shaken up, drew out to win as his rider pleased. APPLEJACK JAKE, in hand to the stretch, finished willingly under urging, but could not menace the winner. BAY ACRE, forced back when bothered by WHATAJJURSE at the start, closed well through the stretch, but could not threaten the leaders. LICT0R, caugnt in the jam caused by WHATANURSE at the break, moved up well when clear, was forced out by BAY ACRE during the drive and tired badly nearing the finish. TRANQUIL TIDE was through early. WHATANURSE bore out badly at the start, interfered with BAY ACRE and LICT0R, then tired. after racing well to the stretch. TRIMDEM never was a serious factor.
