CASTILE, prominent from the beginning, forged to the front on the final turn, opened a commanding lead entering the stretch, drifted out while tiring during the stretch run, interfered with YARDTOWN, but, under left-hand punishment, lasted to prevail over the latter. CASTILE was disqualified for fouling and placed second. YARDTOWN gave way to the winner after a half mile, moved up gamely on the outside midway of the final furlong, was bumped by the latter and, as a result, was unable to regain the lead. SUGAR PETE failed to make up appreciable ground. PEANUTS GIRL was in close quarters during the stretch run. BODENS PAL lacked speed. BLEWS0 tired under punishment.
