Pirates Card Benefit Game For Blinded Moose So Iters PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 6 UP. — Former Pittsburgh Pirate players still in the majors will play a benefit game at Forbes Field July 9 for "Julius "Moose" Solters, former American League star blinded as the result of a baseball injury. The Solters testimonial committee, headed by Lee Handley, former Pirate in-fielder, was assured by Branch Rickey that the Pittsburgh baseball club would cooperate to promote the game. Handley said the present Pirates will play a team made up of former Pittsburgh players now playing on other major league clubs. Among those eligible would be Preacher Roe and Billy Cox of the Brooklyn Dodgers Gene Woodling of the New York Yankees; Phil Masi of the Chicago White Sox; Ken Hintzelman of the Phillies, and Bobby Elliott of the Boston Braves.
