Fischer Beds Down 22 At River Downs Course All Available Stall Space to Be Filled by Memorial Day Opening CINCINNATI O., May 24. With the inaugural of the 44-day meeting at River Downs on Memorial Day only days away, horses scheduled to participate are rapidly filling their allotted space and at this point it is very evident that every available stall on the grounds will be filled before the gala opening. Richard Fischer, who trains a large public stable for several Kentuckians arrived from Churchill Downs with 22 head, representing the largest single shipment to date. Others coming from the same place and unloading here today were E. W. Steger, W. W. Jones and Charles Gentry, each bringing half a dozen. Tack Trimpe, Daily Racing Form docker, was busy timing the many horses that went through their paces Saturday and stated that the local racing season will iind the best grade of racing material seen here in many years. 4. large gathering of press, radio and TV will be hosted at the annual River Downs party held at the Sheraton-Gibson Hotel Sunday. Joe Frisco, star of stage, radio, screen and TV, will be on hand to handle the comedy role in his own excellent and inimitable way. Robert J. Dienst, Henry Green and Dan E. Cronin, top River Downs officials, were on hand to greet their guests.
