Trainer Lily B. Deming,Resident Of Long Branch, N. J., 30 Years OCEANPORT, N. J., June 3. — Trainer Lily B. Deming, Long Branchs most illustrious member of the thoroughbred racing fraternity, will be homeward bound shortly for the June 14 opening of the 1952 Monmouth Park turf season. She will supervise the bedding down of her equine charges, who race under the nom-de-course of the Cedar Brook Farm, before visiting old friends and acquaintances in nearby Long Branch. Mrs. Deming, a 56-year-old grandmother, qualifies with 20 years of experience for the exacting job of conditioning a stable of horses. A resident of the area for the past 30 years, she is thoroughly versed in all phases of training ritual and is winning her share of races along the Eastern Atlantic seaboard. The Cedar Brook Farm, owned by Mrs. Walter Martin of Spring Lake, is topped by Palville and Airis, while including other useful performers;
