SUN TIGER went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch under steady handling, then gamely withstood a brisk drive to retain a clear advantage over WELL MET to the finish. WELL MET moved up. boldly nearing the stretch, finished well under urging, but could not overtake the winner. RIOT, forwardly placed and saving ground from the start, failed to rally when set down in the drive. MATTIE GIRL had early speed, then dropped back and raced evenly without mishap. PLATFORM was outrun. JOAN ANNE K. drifted ot while tiring during the last three-eighths mile. BOLD KING began slowly and was never dangerous. DEALER was through early. Overweight— Sun Tiger, 1 pound. FONDEST HOPE, in hand to the • stretch, responded to strong .handling during the drive and, after racing by the leaders, won going away. LEASE HOUND, never far back, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not hold the top one. SGT. ABE, reserved to the last three-eighths mile, closed strongly under punishment, but could not overtake LEASE N° HOUND. BILLCELLA gave a, good effort and had no mishap. ONWARD MARCH, forwardly placed from the beginning, made a good bid nearing the stretch, but faltered during the drive. ARC0URT raced wide during the Stretch run. OPENING DAY was never prominent. CASS was outrun. HI-CHROME could not keep up and drifted putihrough the stretch. RESORT began slowly. HIGH BOSS quit after showing early speed. GLANGOLLY had brief speed, but failed to stay.
