SUN BAHRAM— Carries Mr* E. H. Ellison, Jr.7 colors in the Ridgley House Purse at Delaware Park today. ► — « County Delight Heads Seven Named for Delaware Feature Rokeby Runner Carries 124* While Engaging Sun Bahram, Pensava, Adopt and Irritate .DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 3.— Rokeby Stables County Delight was a surprise entrant in tomorrows featured Ridgely House Purse, and needless to say, his presence caused considerable consternation among conditioners of his opponents. The main contention seems likely to come from Joseph Gavegnanos Pensava, Mrs. Eben H. Ellison, Jr.s Sun Bahram and Winlochan Stables Adopt. The latter will have a running mate in Craigwood Stabler Palatial Appetite, while Frank Baldis Irritate and Elkcam Stables Air Attack also are coupled. County Delight, a five-year-old son of Count Fleet, was withdrawn from last Saturdays Brandywine Handicap when the track became sloppy, but he has been kept on edge with several good morning trials. He last raced in the Dixie Handicap and finished three lengths behind Alerted in what was his second start of the year, having been previously beaten off by Spartan Valor in the Excelsior. Last season he earned a portion of the purse in each of 20 starts and earned 70,985. Sun Bahram is another who passed up the Brandywine due to track conditions. He has raced but three times this year and was beaten not more than three lengths in each of his outings, although never better than fourth. This fellows principal claim to fame is a victory in the" 1949 Leonard Richards here, in which he was moved into the top position through the disqualification of Greentree Stables short-priced favorites, Capot and Wine List. Adopt Mainstay of Clark Entry Adopt shapes up as the mainstay of trainer Henry Clarks coupling, with Palatial Appetite primarily a turf horse. Adopt hasnt won in four starts this season but his races have been good and have earned him a pair of seconds and as many thirds. He was last second behind Laran in 1 :44% for a mile and a sixte- " while Palatial Appetite was beaten a dozen lengths in the same race. Pensava, a Pensive gelding, showed marked improvement in his last and romped home with a six-length victory over Chicle n. and Sea Grass while being timed in 1:45% for a mile and a sixteenth. Air Attack was timed the nine furlongs in 1:50%. Irritate was fifth in sprint competition in Maryland and was beaten off while carrying a 7,500 claiming tag for William Ziegler, Jr., in Miami. The mid-week program also includes the first Of the Montchanin Handicaps, a series of events to be run each Wednesday. The series increase in purse and distance with each running and tomorrows test is at a mile and a sixteenth for a purse of ,500. The entrants are Thasian Hero, Vamanos, Father Link, Ginger Boots, Bimfort, Djinn, Lucky Harp, Abbottstown, Linkythorn, Trout Lure, Blue Jack, Zealand, Xavier II., I Trust, Reighsign and Little Rocket. The last two are coupled as the Seibel-Welsker entry." Points will be awarded following each runningflbn the basis of 24 to the winner, 12 to the second horse, six to the" third horse and three to the fourth horse. Should the series be completed as scheduled, the owners of the first four horses in the point standings will be awarded an additional ,500.
