Primate Out for Year BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 3. — Starmount Stables Primate suffered a cracked sesamoid bone in his left ankle during the running of the Jersey Stakes Saturday, X-ray pictures revealed today. "He will be out of action for at least a year," trainer Jimmy Hastie said, "and even then there is no guarantee that he will ever come back." As soon as the horse cools out and can be moved, he probably will be shipped to the Claiborne Farm in Kentucky, where owner E. J. Benjamin boards several horses. Primate had not been able to win a race in several starts this year, but he has earned 7,950 through two years of racing. He is insured for 50,000.
