CLARA PATRICIA assumed command soon after the start, established a clear lead entering the stretch, but was briskly ridden to hold an advantage to the finish TONYS TROUBLE, forced back immediately after the start, moved up steadily when clear but could not reach the top one when set down through the stretch. NAVY DIVER gave a good effort and had no mishap. ADVANCE-CROSS began fast, but dropped back after the start and raced evenly to the stretch then closed willingly under urging, but could not get to the leaders. GRECIAN STAR began s bwly. HERMAN had a rough trip. MISTER MAC was outrun. COLE SLAW was.never dangerous. TINAJA A. tired. SLAM AH EAD had early speed, but bore out during the last three.-eighths mile and lost all chance. BOLDGER moved up steadily during the run to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and drew clear without need of urging. BLUE FALCON, a sharp factor from the start, could not get to the leader when hard urged through the stretch, but was easily best of the others. BELLANOCH, on the outside for the drive, closed determinedly under punishment. PERFIDY faltered during the drive. JUST-MADE-IT lacked early speed and raced wide during the last three-eighths mile. GLORYS CHANCE began sluggishly and was never a serious contender. WILD HEIRESS failed to stay after displaying early speed. DUCHESS HELEN went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. .NICOTINE GAL would not extend herself on the fast track. ROCKTON showed nothing. OFF AT 4:38i EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second, and third the same HOOS ABBE, never far back, drifted out at the stretch turn, responded readily when straight for the drive and, after disposing of LADY ROWENA, won going away. LADY ROWENA assumed command at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, but could not hold the winner, although much the best of the others. ANDY JOE, snugged from the outset, reached the lead between calls in the backstretch, then was taken under strong restraint and failed to rally during the last three-sixteenths mile. BLUE SICKLE began slowly. SHARON E was never dangerous. QUEEN APACHE made a mild bid at the upper turn, then gave way. KEEN STEP was through early. Overweight— Keen Step, 3 pounds. GOLDEN PELT, rank during the post parade, was never dangerous in the running. TARTAN LASS was outrun. RED RIVER began fast, but dropped-back after the start and raced wide thereafter.
