Know Both Sides of Fence RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio. June 3. — It is seldom that men who know racing from both sides of the fence are found in as many key positions governing the sport as at this course. In the past, the three stewards, Keene Daingerfield, Monte Weil and Sam Nuckols all have paid the bills on racing thoroughbreds, as has starter Tom Brown. Because of his long association with the sport, racing secretary Eugene W. Bury also has first-hand knowledge of the problems of horsemen.
