New York Notes BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 3. Oedipus, champion steeplechaser of the last two years, has entirely recovered from recent coughing and is back in active training. He breezed five furlongs in 1:04 last week, and if all goes well, he will be seen under colors in the Temple Gwathmey Memorial Chase here at the United Hunts meeting on June 12th. Belmonts beauty, as depicted on the colored post cards, is finding its way around the world. To date, at this meeting, requests have already exceeded those of last year. A count reveals 43 foreign countries have been made aware of it. Cards have been sent to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Norway, India, Egypt, Alaska, the Canal Zone, Cuba, Germany, New Zealand and South Africa.
