Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Dorais as Backfield Coach PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 21 UP.— The Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club signec Gus Dorais, "father of the forward pass, as backfield coach today, emphasizing its switch from ground power to a T-forma-tion air attack. Joe Bach, Steeler head coach, who replaced single-wing disciple John Michel-osen, called Dorais out of a four-year semi-retirement to help gice the Steelers an aii punch. Dorais, 62, has been in touch with Professional Football only as a scout anc radio reporter since his retirement as heac coach of the Detroit Lions of the National Professional Football League.
