C. Hoffman; bred by C. C. Boshamer. WENT TO POST-5:45. OFF AT 5:45 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. CLOVER MISS gradually improved position after the initial quarter mile, was sent to the inside approaching the stretch and, after disposing of MINNESINGER, held SPINSTER safe. The latter, in hand to the stretch, finished strongly under urging but could not overtake the winner. MINNESINGER, never far back, reached the lead between calls in the early stretch, then faltered during the drive. PRETTY TRICK was outrun. GLUE began slowly. COUNTESS RUTH went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch, then gave way. IMPRESSMENT had early speed but failed to stay. SHORT REIGN could not keep up. PETITE BAYOU was never a serious contender. Scratched— 60656 Tomato, 112. Overweight— Minnesinger, 2 pounds. NINTH RACE DETROIT— 1 Mile and 70 Yards Horse. Sttateht. Place. Show.
