SCHOLARSHIP, taken back to prevent jamming near the far turn, swung to the outside, responded to late urging and was along to outfinish TRUCHA. The latter gained racing room along the inside to get the lead before a half mile, saved ground throughout and held on stubbornly. BASIS, tight in clost quarters and forced to tail until clear in the stretch, closed willingly. PORTENTOUS, in hand close to the pace and lacking racing room until straightened for the drive, failed to respond to a drive. JUANA went along with the pace on the outside, weakening in the late stages. LITTLE AUD showed speed to remain in contention to the final furlong. STROLL was in close quarters while racing with the pace. IRISH PRINCE and RUSTY GEE were outrun. The latter moved to engage for command after a quarter mile, gained brief command in the stretch, then faltered. TIGER MATT moved outside on the final turn and failed to regain lost ground. GALEDO showed a good effort. PLASTEREO, a forward factor, failed to rally under late urging MONA J. saved ground to no avail. DOWN HEARTED had no mishap. The others were outrun. WENTWORTH improved position gradually, was steered wide entering the stretch and closed strongly to draw clear. QUICK BUCK moved to engage the leader after a half mile, but was unable to match strides with the winner. CHARING ROCK assumed command at once, drew clear, skirted the inner rail, but weakened through the stretch. GLAIRE DAUBER had no mishap. ETERNAL GREAT was unable to keep up. FENELOW assumed command at once, increased his advantage down the backstretch, responded gamely when challenged, but drifted out badly through the stretch and lasted over JIM BRANCH. The latter, in hand within striking distance of the pace, moved to the outside of the leader and was unable to get by while carried wide. PERFECT BAHRAM saved ground into the stretch, but was not good enough. SHES GOT IT forced the pace, moved to challenge in the stretch and was pinched back when caught in the middle of the leaders. ANSWER MAN made up ground in the late stages. RUNYON FUND caught tiring horses. EASY CHOP went evenly. BEAU-BEAU was nvir prominent. DARING MATE showed nothing. ROSY SCENE was outrun. EXEMPLAR slipped through along the rail entering the stretch, gained command under pressure and withstood a sustained drive from LIBERTY RAB. The latter, reserved close to the pace, rallied when set down and was pressing at the end. SHADOWS START, allowed to drop far off the pace, moved up on the outside swung wide and failed to make up ground under late urging. GRAND DEMAND saved ground to catch tiring horses. DUKE AUMAR set the early pace under a snug hold and failed to respond when set down. IDIO forced the pace under light urging and had nothing left for the drive. PONTALBA was outrun. WHIRLING BAT, reserved within striking distance of the pace, improved his position on the far turn, slipped between horses entering the stretch to get command inside the final furlong and drew out under pressure. WHIRLING DOUGH, forwardly placed on the outside, responded under steady pressure but was not good enough. SPATS, under steadying restraint close to the pace, was sent to the outside for the drive, drew on even terms at the furlong pole and weakened LITTLE STEP established the pace, tiring when engaged in the stretch. WAR TOKEN caught tiring horses. SIMMS took off the pace when unable to outrun LITTLE STEP, remained in contention to the final furlong, rallied mildly and tired. AMPHIBLEN was outrun. DATELINE attempted to get through along the inside entering the stretch, was not good enough and was not persevered thereafter.
