Sun David Easy Off Track Winner Tallies as Dodson Pleases in Sprint SprintRuhe Ruhe Winds Up Six Lengths Behind J S Bradley Horse In Villa Park at Hawthorne HawthorneHAWTHORNE HAWTHORNE Cicero HI June 5 The track was deep in mud here this afternoon and the sixyearold Sun David revelling in the going won the featured Villa Park Purse by six lengths The son of Equifox was an oddson choice and fully justified the confidence placed in him by getting to the front early atfd drawing out as he pleased under the piloting of Doug Dodson who was riding his second winner of the afternoon Second place was taken by the Hasty House Farms Ruhe who was racing coupled with Cajun The latter trailed all the way Third place went to Futuramatic The distance was six furlongs and the winner paid 360 and was the fourth pub ¬ lic choice of the afternoon to win Sun David is owned by J S Bradley and trained by Howard Wells WellsWith With Eljay having been withdrawn be ¬ cause of track condition but seven went to the post in the 5000 race and the jockeys silks were soaked before the horses reached the gate Futuramatic was first to leave and was joined almost immediately by Sun David on the inside Once in the van Sun David soon shook off his rival and the rest was easy easyShowers Showers Fall After Fourth Race RaceA A crowd of 10338 was on hand in sticky humid weather Thundershowers began fol ¬ lowing the running of the fourth race and continued throughout the afternoon with the weather becoming cooler coolerTrainer Trainer Ivan Parke sent out a fresh run ¬ ner in the opener in the threeyearold Assimilate and the filly was never headed It was her first essay of the year and she took to the muddy going like a duck to water to end up well in advance of Luart with Karmen Kay the favorite winding up in last place in the 12horse field fieldThe The favorite took the second when Sweet Freedom claimed recently by W H Bishop was successful Paul Bailey rated Sweet Freedom nicely and she was not menaced by Mother Morris the second horse The Daily Double paid 4260 4260Maiden Maiden twoyearolds competed in the third and Texan Sigh owned by Bwama zon Farm and ridden by Layton Risley was the winner The unsexed son of Pinebloom Tav fay Tintagel was making his seventh start and beat out Second Story who was going postward for the third time Texan Sigh was the favorite favoriteBrookshire Brookshire and Crossbow Girl staged a nipandtuck finish in a thundershower in the fourth and Brookshire was the winner by a narrow margin Miss Wabash had a sixlength lead turning for home but backed up out of the money Bentpns Lucy Possess and Mr Bob were well liked here but all failed Brookshire was piloted by Kenneth Church ChurchLady Lady of Chance an Illinoisbred filly set out as if to make a runaway of the fifth but she was doing her best at the end to hold Nylon Crepe The daughter of Son of Chance was in front by about eight lengths rounding the stretch bend but jockey Al Popara drew his whip going to the wire in the mile and a sixteenth race
