Thomas Again Presides In Stand at Longacres LongacresOfficial Official Roster PhotoPatrol Approved by Racing Board BoardLONGACRES LONGACRES Renton Wash June 4 Approval of the photopatrol and the bal ¬ ance of officials at Longacres has been given by the Washington Horse Racing Commission The photo patrol was installed at Longacres last year It met with imme ¬ diate favor from the public and veteran horsemen were of the opinion that the race riding was the cleanest in Longacres his ¬ tory Longacres is the first track of its size from the standpoint of mutuel handle to install the photopatrol photopatrolEddie Eddie Thomas veteran race official was approved to return as presiding steward I representing the commission Noel Chilcutt who has been employed at Longacres every year since the 1933 inaugural again will act as an associate steward Dorsett V Graves was previously approved as an asso ¬ ciate steward This trio has served together at Longacres since 1949 Thomas will name his patrol judges to represent the commis ¬ sion at a later date Also approved for the 54day season which opens June 26 were Steve ODonnell official timer and Thomas Teasdale cus ¬ todian of the jockeys room ODonnell re ¬ places Fred Watrous who died suddenly of a heart attack May 18 ODonnell was an outstanding rider from 1923 to 1935 He rates Sarazen and Diavolo as the finest horses he ever rode Steve won the Trayers on PeteeWrack and the Galiente Handicap on Mike Hall among other outstanding races racesOther Other officials previously approved by the commission are director of racing and racing secretary Mannie Keller presiding judge Mort Carraher associate judges Pete Pedersen George Adams assistant racing secretary W C ONeall starter Eugene Kennedy clerk of scales Robert Smith paddock judge Victor Meyers Jr mutuel manager E B White
