DRY VERMOUTH, a sharp factor from the beginning, raced DEMI-HEURE into defeat to take command when ready leaving the final turn and briskly increased his advantage under a mild hand ride. BORDER SON raced forwardly to the stretch, was unable to overtake the winner when set down for the drive, but finished willingly to easily prevail over the others. RUDYS VALLEY, forced wide on the final turn, rallied too belatedly when straightened to seriously endanger the top ones. DANIA had no apparent excuse. RADIANT LADY moved up menacingly on the far turn, then faltered. FOXOLATER began sluggishly. DEMI-HEURE gave way suddenly inside the stretch. NEST CE PAS was unable to keep up. ALA-FLASH worked his way forward to gain closer contention entering the stretch, came fast when subjected to punishment and was up in. the concluding stride to outgame NEXT STOP. The latter raced BLENFLY into defeat to attain a commanding lead at the furlong marker, faltered when challenged and was* unable to withstand the winner. WINNING FLEET was unable to improve his position when hard hustled through the late stages. BLENFLY tired; .SUPERUPPER failed to stay. HANDSOME TEDDY raced wide. MACBIG, away fastest, raced in closest pursuit of TROUBLE ME to the stretch, responded to brisk urging to take command thereafter and, under adept handling, held KING SOMALI safe. The latter closed with good courage along the rail and steadily was wearing down the winner. GELIO failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. TROUBLE ME tired. HEAD MAN swerved while improving his position to the stretch, then lacked the necessary rally. POSTAL had no apparent mishap. MEGATON failed to stay. AGAR was through early. AVON LADY was reserved back of the early leaders, tame fast when roused for the stretch run and, under brisk pressure, was along in the late strides to outgame MILSPAL. The latter held a clear lead when settled for the stretch run, faltered when placed to punishment and was unable to cope with the top one. PINK SANDS attempted to drift out on the turns, then tired as a result of his efforts. MR. JONES raced evenly through the final furlong without mishap. JULDEE saved ground to no • avail. The latter, forwardly placed from the beginning, moved up boldly on the outside on the final turn to gain closer contention, faltered when shaken for the drive and was unable to seriously-endanger the top ones.
