THITHER, in hand for a half mile, willingly raced around horses into contention and rapidly drew but under urging Tn the stretch run. TOPSIDE raced with the first flight, could not keep up on the stretch turn, then ran up behind STRIKING HOUR about seventy yards out, but was quickly sent into an opening between rivals and gamely gained his placing. SANDY HOOK was reserved early, came around horses for the drive, and finished well. STRIKING HOUR was snugly rated setting the pace, but weakened when challenged. WAILA was in hand for six furlongs and weakened when put to pressure. BRASS RING was not a factor. HOME BOY quit. ■ Attendance, 41,799; Total Mutuel Pool, ,971,048.
