FEUDING, alertly handled, took an; early lead, settled in the stretch with a good advantage, but was hard ridden during the drive to withstand BRASSY. The latter, never far back, was caught in close quarters during the last sixteenth and could not overtake the top one. NU COLE moved up steadily to the stretch, bore to the inside when set down in the drive, crowded BRASSY and could .not be persevered with during the last seventy yards. JOE PAGLINA lacked early speed. TARTAN SUE began fast, but could not keep up after showing brief speed JETTS KISS was never dangerous. WINGS AWAY was outrun. SPUNKY showed nothing. NO NO ANNA was through early. HEART GREETS had early speed but failed to stay. SUPER BEE tired. PAKISTAN broke down, before going a quarter of a mile. JEAN THE JOKER, well placed from the start, responded to brisk ucging during the stretch run and wore down MUSIC in the last sixteenth. The latter, much used racing COAL HEAT into defeat, settled for the drive with a short lead, but , could not withstand the winners COAL HEAT, away slowly, was hustled to reach serious contention, established a good lead nearing the stretch, then faltered during the drive. TIGER FLAME gave a good effort and had no mishap. WAR SECRETARY lacked early speed. SEA RIPPLE had early speed, but failed to stay. HELEN MAISEL tired during the stretch run. PRIMED could not keep up. HIGH HOPES showed little. SUGAR BRIAR was never dangerous. SEPHORA showed nothing. CIRCLES quit. NAGS HEAD, well handled, gradually worked wayH forward to the stretch, responded to punishment and wore down VANDANELL in the last sixteenth. The latter m took an early lead, set the pace until inside the stretch but could not withstand the top one. CHOMBRO steadily worked way forward, drifted to the outside at the final turn, then closed resolutely. DR. ALEX lacked early foot but made up ground during the stretch run. MR. NEAL failed to rally when set down in the drive. LADY BENT was outrun and had no mishap. HASTY BEE raced with VANDANELL to the final furlong, then . gave way. BY GONE DAYS began sluggishly. EARLY BULL was through early. COMMAND POST showed nothing. TICKLER had brief speed. SAXAIR was never prominent. ON THE BIT drifted to the insjde when taking command soon after the start, settled In the stretch with a short lead and continued gamely to withtsand JOES BEST. The latter raced .evenly to the stretch, finished fast under brisk urging, but could not overtake the top one, although easily best of the others. JOES BESTS rider claimed foul against the winner, stating his mount was bothered leaving the upper turn and the stewards checked the film patrol pictures before making the result qfficial. J. R. JONES moved up fast after the break, finished fairly well under punishment, but ■ was unable to threaten the top pair. SO CHEERFUL raced evenly and had no mishap. PEACHTREE LASS tired after showing early speed. WINGED DEVIL had no excuse. STELLA BELLA was* never prominent. IRISH GREEN had a rough trip. STEP-UP-JIMMY began slowly. ROCKPORT broke sluggishly. FIGHTING JURY was under strong handling from the start, was hustled into a safe early lead and mildly shaken up entering the stretch, maintaining the margin to the wire. HAROLD L. was shuffled back at the start, moved steadily into contention while saving ground on the turn, but could not threaten the winner in the drive. ANN FLYNN made a bold bid from the far turn, but could not sustain it and drifted out in the final sixteenth. LITTLE JED was on the outside much of the way and was close enough at the head of the stretch, then hung. MONON BRAVE was done after a half. TRIM DESTINY began fast, raced within striking distance of SWAPS to the stretch, was unable to stay with the latter but held on determinedly to best the others. The latter began sluggishly and was outrun to the stretch, closed strongly when set down in the drive but could not reach the top one. JAY WALKER, never far back, drifted to the outside at the final turn, then faltered during the drive. LADY ALIBI lacked early foot. RIPPSY began fast made the pace to the final furlong under pressure from JAY WALKER, then weakened. SKY HALL was.never dangerous. ELKCHESTER had no excuse. BLUE NOW tired after racing well to the stretch. SHOOTING STAR raced within striking distance of the leaders for a half mile but had nothing left for the drive.
