NORMAS FIRST joined the leaders under urging at the turn and bested COURAGEOUS IMP in a prolonged drive. COURAGEOUS IMP was intermittently urged while saving ground, held a slight advantage into the final stages and just missed. WAR STRETCH, well placed racing outside the first flight, closed fastest of all at the end. HI AND FAIR could not shake off contention while racing betwen rivals and weakened. DAYS HERO was under pressure forcing the pace, was left with a commanding lead when FOREIGN AID faltered, and just lasted to best HAY FEVER. The latter was outrun to the stretch, then came to the middle of the track and finished with an impressive rush. JUST DOUBLE steadily improved position racing on the outside but was hanging at the end. HY-SKEETER had no mishap. DEACK DUNCAN was outrun. FIRST CADET made a long run to reach the winner while racing outside of horses on the turn, and did not have enough left for the final drive. CHICANERY came between horses, saving ground on the stretch turn and finished strongly. POLLYS BO bore out slightly and tired. REAPING RETURN raced well for a half-mile. MENEMSHA gave a poor effort. MISS CHARM was smartly steadied within striking distance on the turn, willingly responded for the stretch drive and won going away. WILEU raced on the outside, steadily improving position and finished fast. LIGHT STEP failed to respond to punishment rounding the turn but came between rivals with a rush near the end. TAX CUT shook off contention and opened a long lead on the final turn but weakened in the final furlong. KIDNAP could not keep up racing on the outside. QUEEN YVONNE weakened suddenly in the drive. PATUXENT saved ground racing into a clear lead at the beginning, was lightly urged setting the pace and just lasted to stave off ROYAL BEACON II. The latter, reserved off the pace, rallied next to the rail and ran up on the heels of PATUXENT, broke stride while being taken out sharply, then came again and just missed. An objection lodged by the rider on ROYAL BEACON II. against PATUXENT was not allowed. CHUCK THOMPSON rallied on the outside and finished well to gain his placing. OURNAV lacked a rally.
