Fifty-Three Nominations For Brandywine Turf #Cap Jabneh, Akbar Khan, Aeschylus Listed to 5,000 Delaware Race STANTON, Del., May 16.— Many of the countrys leading grass course stylists are among the 53 nominees for the 0,000 added Brandywine Turf Handicap to Vo contested at Delaware Park on May 30. The one mile and a sixteenth Brandywine, a dirt course fixture in 19 previous runnings, is the first of two major turf events scheduled during the 32-day race meeting opening on May 29. The Brandywine eligibles include four winners of grass stakes this year in addition to several candidates which have proven their prowess over turf courses in past years. The winners this year are Mrs. E. Eugenia Bankheads Jabneh, Hialeah Turf Handicap; Cockfield Stables Akbar Khan, Dixie; Douglas R. Smalls Aeschylus, Laurel Spring Turf, and Jaclyn Stables Espea, Bougainvillea. Three winners of stakes over grass courses in 1956 among the strong roster of eligibles are Foxcatcher Farms Che/ation, Dixie; Nelson B. Hunts Master Boing. Washington, D. C, International, and Frank C. Rand Jr.s Prince Morvi, Sussex. Stakes winners in 1957 over dirt courses among the Brandywine eligibles include Arthur H. Bowans Fabricator, Southern Maryland Handicap; George D. Wideners Tellarian, Valley Forge and Mrs. Irving Gushens Star Rover, Ben Ali.
