ARABS LADY went to the front at once, was allowed to open a long lead, was taken out to the good footing and maintained a clear lead to the end under light urging. SLAPPY, forwardly placed from the start, lost ground leaving the backstretch when the rider moved out to the better going, came again when straightened in the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. BOB HI saved ground entering the stretch, but was unable to improve under pressure. CRAB APPLE worked her way up on the outside to reach contention turning into the stretch and finished willingly. NELLIE MOWLEE, kept close to the early pace while racing in the better footing, moved around the leader entering the stretch, drew clear near the sixteenth post, swung down on the inside and just lasted. PLAY GREENOCK, well placed while between horses on the far turn, came out to the middle of the track and closed fast with a determined bid that just failed. SOLAR STAR, forwardly placed in the first quarter, lost ground entering the stretch, then closed with a rush under vigorous handling. BILLS ANNE moved up fast leaving the backstretch, saved ground, then flattened out in the drive. PACIFIC MAID weakened after setting the pace for five furlongs. SHEILA MAY, caught in close quarters near the end of the backstretch, never recovered enough to menace. BAY ACRE was unable to untrack himself. UNMASK, showing a liking for the footing, moved into command on the inside on the backstretch, drew clear with ease and won as rider pleased. TOWNHOUSE was under light restraint while close up, moved into contention on the turn into the stretch and closed willingly through the final furlong. JELLICO made up ground on the inside under intermittent pressure. FLYING JIM was in a favorable position early and had no mishap. BUCK SERGEANT raced evenly on the outside. BROWN APPELL was under light urging to maintain a slight advantage while setting the early pace, then weakened when put to a drive. LITTLE NOBLE faltered in the final furlong. PLAYING POMP had no mishap PLAYFUL JANE was unable to keep up and was not persevered with. LONGTIDE, going forwardly on the outside, responded to steady urging entering the stretch, wore down the leaders nearing the sixteenth post and drew out at the end. MY WILLOW, quickest to begin, was under light urging while setting the pace, saved ground entering the stretch and held on tenaciously under urging in the final furlong. POOKA was forwardly placed and had no mishap. PUNCTUAL closed fast through the stretch. GEORGIE V. remained lapped on the outside of MY WILLOW rounding the turn into the stretch, showed in front nearing the furlong post, then flattened out badly. TAKE AWAY, going forwardly in the first quarter, was sent up on the outside midway of the far turn, responded to pressure to threaten entering the stretch, then failed to gain under steady urging. FREE TRANSIT was going easily while forcing the pace, saved ground all the way but was unable to reach the leader under stout pressure. MARKSMAN slipped through on the inside when straightened in the stretch, but failed to make up ground. The others had no excuse.
