MIANAMI, kept well up under steady hold, responded to light urging entering the stretch, moved up on the outside to assume command and win with speed in reserve. CLOUDY WEATHER, caught in close quarters the first quarter, recovered to gain a contending position near the head of the stretch while coming between horses and closed gamely in the final furlong. TEN OAKS remained close to the pace under light urging, moved up on the turn and failed to improve under pressure. GRAY VICTORY showed good speed, set the pace to the top of the stretch under intermittent pressure, then faltered. ERIC KNIGHT was unable to reach the leaders. WAR SPY raced evenly. PROGNOSIS, forwardly placed on the outside, moved into command midway of the turn, drew clear and was under pressure to hold I DID safe. The latter remained close up under iight urging, responded willingly in the drive and was closing on the winner. PIED PIPER, slow to settle into stride, was steered between horses entering the stretch and closed fastest of all. MYSHIRLEY had speed from the start, disposed of PLYMOUTH in the first half, then weakened slightly through the stretch. EVELYN W. was rushed up on the outside from a sluggish start and showed a good effort ROLLS HIGH was unable to keep up. SIS ROSIE had no mishap. PLYMOUTH had brief early speed. VIM showed good speed from the beginning, assumed command when DON CHANCE swerved to the outside, then followed close behind the latter entering the stretch and had enough left to hold MIGUELITO safe. The latter was kept within striking distance, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and responded well to the end. KSAR OF AUDLEY finished fast on the outside with a belated rush. GRANLAG loomed at the furlong pole, then faltered SOVERTON was devoid of early speed. WILL MARKHAM had no mishap. MERRY SUNSHINE raced evenly. DON CHANCE broke alertly, swerved to the outside nearing the four and a half furlong pole, recovered and showed high speed in taking the lead midway of the turn, then flattened out badly. HY-CHARLIE, sent into command in the first quarter, drew clear under steady urging, saved ground entering the stretch and was ridden out smartly. QUIEN ES was sent up fast on the outside rounding the turn, challenged the winner, then held on gamely under stout handling. PAPER MILL was forwardly placed while under light wraps, then failed to im prove when called upon through the stretch. HAMMER-LOCK saved ground throughout and had no excuse. PAGE II. weakened under pressure after being a forward factor for a half mile. LEYSTAN was unable to threaten the leaders. ROMANOCK and SHORE PATROL were outrun. Scratched— 98606 Aridisical, 120. FLEET WEST, showing high early speed was lapped on the outside of the leaders entering the stretch, responded to vigorous handling near the furlong pole was bothered in the late stages when DOUBLE JAY kept bearing over, then outfimshed the latter. DOUBLE JAY disposed of HERBIE G. leaving the quarter pole, continued gamely under steady urging and was trying to bear out all through the stretch. MEL EPPLEY, slow to begin, came between horses turning into the stretch and closed courageously on the inside. O. G. KELLEY saved ground throughout under steady urging. CAIQUE finished well. SILEE was in a contending position turning into the stretch, but failed to threaten when called on. HERBIE G. quit. MANGOHICK faltered in the final furlong. The others were outrun. PELLICLE, under a strong ha d while close up, moved to the front when ready, was allowed to draw into a long lead and won with the rider easing. MIDWAY SUN was under stout restraint while within striking distance, came to the outside on the far turn, then closed with good courage. VASSALLO, forwardly placed under a tight hold, moved up with a rush leaving the three-furlong post to threatem, but was unable to menace thereafter. LABOULAYE saved ground while setting the pace under light wraps, but faltered when put to a drive. ISLAM PRINCE, allowed to settle into best stride, closed some ground in the late stages under steady urging. LUSTY TIDBIT was never a threat. GAY MOONBEAM flattened out badly when called on entering the stretch. GENERAL DON was not persevered with when soundly beaten in the final furlong. SNAFU remained closest in attendance of DISPOSE while the latter was setting a fast pace, responded to pressure entering the stretch, drew on even terms with the leader leaving the sixteenth post and continued on under stout handling to outfinish VEGAS WHEEL. The latter slipped through on the inside nearing the furlong post, offered a determined bid and just missed. DISPOSE was allowed to open a long lead while under light restraint, shortened stride in the final furlong and was tiring at the finish. CHAIN MISS was hard held while outrun for five furlongs, moved up rounding the far turn, then failed to improve under light urging through the stretch. BLACK BRAT raced evenly. HERO MINE was outrun.
