Apprentice Rotz Takes Lead ! At Detroit With 19 Winners DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 7. Apprentice jockey Johnny Rotz took the top in the local riding standings Saturday afternoon, successfully piloting four of his mounts on the week-end card. The Illinois-born youngster rode 19 winners through Saturday, June 5, and his nearest rival is the veteran Lois Cook with 18 victorious trips. Harold Keene and ; Bobby Baird each have a dozen victories j while Manuel N. Gonzalez is next with seven winners. H. H. "Pete" Battle, Vester R. Wright, and Marion H. VanBerg are tied in the training totals, each having saddled six successful charges.
