Pet Bully Will Contest 00,000 Calif ornian Rice Star Due at Hollywood Park This Morning for Week-End Race HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 7. According to word received here, today, Mrs.. Ada L. Rices Pet Bully, winner of his last four starts, including two stakes, will leave New Jersey tonight by plane for Hollywood Park, where he will engage the best the West has to offer in the 00,000 Californian at a mile and a sixteenth on Saturday. Pet Bully is due at the Inglewood plant Tuesday morning. He will be accompanied by trainer Tommy Kelly, a groom and an exercise boy. Mrs. BJce paid a ,000 supplementary nomination fee to keep the son of Petrose eligible. Pet Bully is no stranger to Hollywood Park. Before an injured hoof sidelined him last summer, he won three stakes, the Premiere, The Lakes and Flowers and the Inglewood here. In the latter stake be bested Royal Serenade, while giving the eventual Hollywood Gold Cup winner weight. Pet Bully has won the Valley Forge and Wilmington in the "East this season. Should Pet Bully win the Californian, his connections say he will be retired. If he does not win it, he will be returned East for the Carter and then retired. He is a six-year-old horse. In the Californian, run under weight-forage conditions with allowances for earnings, Pet Bully will carry 114 pounds, receiving a pound from the three-year-old Kentucky Derby winner, Determine; four from the blazing Imbros, and at equal weights with most of the other leading contenders.
