Wyse Stable Has Sixteen Head at Omaha Track OMAHA, Nebr., May 3.— .One of the top stables with one of the leading jockeys at Ak-Sar-Bens 1954 race meeting are back to try and equal or better their record at the Ak-Sar-Ben 35-day meeting which starts May 19. The Fred Wyse stable of Almeda, Texas, which was the seventh leading stable last year with purse winnings of 0,570* has 16 head here which won a total of 10 races in 1954. Contract rider for the Texas String is Ernest Mower. The veteran booter finished sixth among the top 10 jockeys last year with an Ak-Sar-Ben record of 16 wins, 12 seconds and 10 thirds. Wyses top performer last year was Andromeda, a five-year-old mare by Bern-borough— Mirth. She finished in the money in her four Ak-Sar-Ben starts last year, including a visit to the winners circle in the Reigh Count Purse in which she defeated such distance runners as Royal Ghost, Dr. Tulip and Calloway K. Ten of Wyses horses are two-year-olds; two are three-year-olds, and none are over five years of age. Sandair, four-year-old daughter of Air Rate, had three wins in six Omaha starts; Golden Choice, a five-year-old, was a two-time-winner here, and Bamma finished the season with one win and fifteen times in the money in 23 starts.
