MAX HI-R5GHScfddfedtwure ♦ Assign Joe Jones 126 for Rose ben Pegged Three Pounds Above Jet Action for Saturdays 5#X0 Belmont Sprint BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 3.— With W. M. Wickhams White Skies out of the picture, Mrs. E. D. Jacobs Joe Jones today was named topweight for Saturdays renewal of the 5,000 added Roseben Handicap here. Racing secretary and handicapper Frank E. "Jimmy" Kilroe assigned the five -year-old son of Stymie 126 pounds for the seven-furlong dash, seven pounds more than the bay gelding carried when beaten less than a length by Fisherman in his last start, the Excelsior Handicap at Jamaica April 16. The champion sprinter. White Skies, one ,of the leading candidates for the Roseben, was destroyed Monday morning following a training accident at Jamaica. It was the general opinion that White Skies would have been the topweight for the Roseben at somewhere in the neighborhood of 130 pounds. The Sun Again racer had carried 130 and 132 pounds in his two starts this year, finishing third on each occasion, in the Paumonok and Toboggan handicaps, respectively; Greatest Impost This Year If Trainer Hirsch Jacobs starts Joe Jones under the assigned 126 pounds, the impost will be the greatest carried by the gelding thus far this year. In nine starts in 1955, he has won twice, an overnight handicap at Santa Anita and the Bowie Handicap, taking the latter event under a burden of 120 pounds. After the Bowie, he finished fourth and last under 121 in the Campbell Memorial at Bowie and second in the Excelsior to Fisherman from whom he was receiving seven pounds. Kilroe assigned weights to 36 horses for the Saturday stake, with Joe Jones conceding from three to 24 pounds to his rivals. Second highweight is Maine Chance Farms Jet Action with 123. This colt finished fifth in his only start of the year at Hialeah in February. Last season, he won five races and more than 6,000. Foxcatcher Farms Chevation is next on the list with 122 pounds, followed by Morris Sims Blessbull and Joe W. Browns Bobby Brocato, 121 each; Brookmeade Stables Capeador and Calumet Farms Mark-Ye-Well, 120, each; and James Cox Bradys Artismo, J.
