NOTES OF THE TURF. The good colt Rudy; by Yankee Isis, died at Bennings Thursday. Jockey Willie Knapp Is expected at Bennings today from Oakland. Jockey Wishard has reported to trainer Rowe at James R. Keencs stable. The best horses In the stable of Barney Schreiber, at Oakland, will leave for Slemphls today. Eugene Hildebrand is galloping horses at Graves-end. He will report to trainer John W. Rogers April 3. Among the improvements at Sheepshead is an iron fence on the outside of the track up to the Neck Road. This will inclose all the Sheepshead Bay track. Fred Cooks Derby winner, Minnie Adams, cost the bookmaker 00 as a yearling. She was bred by Milton Young, who owns her dam, Brctzel, a daughter of Galliard. J. E. Madden has bought of T. C. McDowell, the yearling colt by Hamburg Icg Wolllngton, by Longfellow. He is a brother to Pegasus and a half brother to David Carriek and four other winners. Halcyon and Rosinaute are Iwo famous broodmares .which will lie bred to Filigraiie this season. The latter at one time held teveral California records including one mile and an eighth, which she ran in 1:52, and a mile and a quarter, which she ran in 2:00. Warning, W. C. Dalys supposed good thing In the first Bennings Handicap tomorrow, was a present to the "Sage of Hartford" from Sam Hildrcth. Hildrcth bought him at the sale of E. E. Smathers stable for ,000. He cost Smathers ! 100 as a yearling. Warning is a half brother lo Claude. j
