King Leopold began slowly and was forced to go around the leaders to get up, but finished fast and outstayed Charley Ward under a drive. The latter was a contender all the way and was much used in the early stages in following the fast pace set by Jack Lee. The latter showed great speed, but tired. Beau Brummel saved ground on the turn into the homestretch, but tired under a drive. Mannie Cohen was interfered with at the start. LIddon was saved from the earlv pace and waited with until rounding the far turn in the last time around, where he moved up and, opening a winning lead, was well in hand all of the last furlong. Bell-the-Cat was easily best of the others and closed up gamely on the turn into the homestretch, but could never get to the winner. Eclectic finished with a rush. Immortelle, suddenly improved, wore Algonquin down in the last sixteenth and, outgaming her, got up in the last twenty yards and was going away at the. end. Algonquin began quickly and sprinted into a long lead in the run down the baekstretch, but tired in the last furlong. Prince of Pless ran a winning race, began, slowly and closed a big gap after working his way up ou the extreme outside. Harvest Time stumbled and fell when in a contending position at the furlong post and Prediction, which was behind him, tumbled over him, Arachne finished fast. Debar moved up and wore Devouts lead down while rounding the far turn, caught the latter tiring in the stretch run and caught and passed him with a rush in the last furlong. Devout set a fast pace and had nothing left when the winner challenged. Alma Dufonr got caught in a jam when the start came and Larsen had to pull her up. Meadowbreeze was reserved In the early stages and saved ground on every turn, came through on the inside on the turn into the homestretch and ran by Robin Hood and Bensonhurst, but had nothing left to stall off Lucy Young. Bensonhurst showed a high order of speed, but the pace told on him at the end. Robin Hood showed speed, but failed to stay. The last three were virtually left at the post. Foxmead moved up with a rush on the far turn, but tired in the last quarter. Baron Esher ran disappointingly. Cygnet ran well for a half.
