Emma Reubold, running on the inside in close quarters, maintained a place in forward contention throughout, coming away right at tbe end in decisive style. Standard, a prominent contender from the start in the deep inside going and shut oft at the half, came again and but for stumbling right at the end would have been closer up. Jerry Hunt easily Improved bis position under vigorous handling and finished fast. Rector, badly messed about on the extreme outside, where he was carried hopelessly wide all the way, finished like "a whirlwind. San Lotion, a close up fifth, made a surprisingly good showing. Bath P.each failed to stay after a great burst of early speed. Full Sway was shuffled to the rear at the start and prefers slower going. Americano ran a bad race. M., from a Hying start, ran within striking, distance of the leaders to the last turn, where she began rapidly overhauling them, coming away with plenty in reserye in the closing furlong. Lord Nelson made tbe running lint, boring out early and shutting off the favorite on the inside, quickly succumbed to the winner, but eventually scored a lucky second over Shady Lnd. The latter, on the inside and interfered with at the half, was forced to pull up, but eventually came through again in the worst going and ran a game race. Tain OShanter, away poorly, closed up much ground. Blumenthal was never dangerous and ran a bad race. .Watchful was sore in his preliminary and likes heavier going. Orcban assumed the lead at the start-and made the running throughout, winning comfortably enough. Harbor was in forward and game, but unavailing pursuit of the winner throughout, despite being badly messed about. Graphite, shuflled to the rear on the first turn, made up ground rapidly on the backstretch and, after being carried .out on the last turn, just failed tor get up for second place. Modicum, away slowly and forced to the outside on the first turn, finally got over into deep going next to the inner rail, where he was practically anchored and was pocketed right at the end. Dusty Miller was hopelessly outpaced for the first half, but made up ground In the stretch. Major Tenny retired early. Tony Faust, shut off on the inside, worked through a rough Journey to the stretch, where he finished fast in a superior effort. Aankee Jim went well. Valeureuse was unable to stride freely in the going. Pimkim retired after a wonderful early display of speed. Mabel Hollander was in close quarters all the way. May L. Sir Edward got away llatfooted and was excessively urged to wrest the lead from Princess Titania, came away finally and, after appearing all over the winner, tired suddenly. Ralbert, nearly left, gradually closed a big gap into, a fast going third In an extra good race. Elevation, badly handled, ran forwardly and gamely throughout. Yada set the pace throughout and drew into a clear lead on the last turn, seemingly having the measure of his opponents, but tired unexpectedly right at the end. Magrane, on the inside in deep going, fell away after forward contention for six furlongs. Tlleo Case was not good enough at the weights and tired at the end of five furlongs. Chantilly, nearly left, was excessively urged to get up after strenuous contention in the worst going, was finally bumped and, being unable to keep on his feet, fell fifty yards from the finish.
