BANISHMENT FOR STEEPLECHASE JOCKEYS. New Orleans, La., March 24. Judges Treyelyan and Murphy announced tonight that they had concluded their investigation of the steeplechase scandal at City Park and said that a ruling would be forthcoming Monday. "The only regret I have is that we were unable to make a clean sweep of all parties implicated in this case," said Judge Murphy. "We found it impossible to get corrolwratlve evidence against the man we were after and it looks as it he will escape. A couple of parties will be placed under the ban, however, and I dont mind saying that they are steeplechase riders."
