CONEY ISLAND STAKES TO CLOSE. Elsewhere in this Issue the Coney Island Jockey Club advertises a list of stakes bound to enlist the attention and patronage of all owners of horses good enough to compete for stake honors. Entries will close November 15, so no great space of time remains for consideration of conditions before making, nominations. The list embraces a number of the most valuable and famous events of the American turf. Including the Lawrence Realization, Annual Champion, Tidal and Great Filly Stakes. Western owners of good horses have scanty chances of winning anything more than cheap purses in their own section and perforce must look to the east. To all such the Coney Island Jockey Club tenders an Invitation to engage their horses in the rich events now offered . and they should not be slow in accepting;
