TENNESSEE HORSEMEN ELATED. Memphis, Tenn., November 7. Returns from yesterdays election showing that General M. R. Patterson. Democratic candidate, will be next Governor of Tennessee, caused jollification among turfmen at Montgomery Park and throughout the state today, as General Patterson was looked on as not being an enemy of the sport which has been conducted in this state for many years. With the next legislature in accord with the governor-elect, horsemen pretend to see the last of a bitter fight which has waged in this state for three years, in which the so-called reform following at one time threatened to annihilate all forms of horse racing. It Is said on good authority that without fear of hostile legislation to racing O. K. G. Billings and a following will again resurrect the harness racing which was noteworthy here, for many pacing and trotting records were made at the famous "Two-minute" track.
