CLOSE OF THE HAMILTON MEETING. Hamilton. Out., October 5. The fall session of the Hamilton Jockey Club came to a close today before the largest crowd of the meeting. The attendance was close to -4,ofM. Speculation was brisk and as only two favorites won the books kept most of the money. The steeplechase, one of the features of the programme, was won hy M. J. Dalys Kara, favorite hi the betting. Kara was ridden by Mnsnada and he won eased up to a walk. Bob Murphy had a strong following limong the horsemen and trainers. The public stuck to Masnada, who has leeonie quite the rage up here, as bettors know that with the Italian jockey in the saddle they were sure of a ride. The first turn of the Held found Dulcian out in front forcing a fast pace. The second time around Masnada sent Kara after the leaders and when Dulcian ltolted out of the course going to the eighth jump Kara went to the front with a rush and for the remainder of the trip led his field. Lady Karma proved the biggest disappointment of the day. She was an odds-on favorite in the sixtli race and a IKior start ruined whatever chances she might have had. Directly after the break Lady Karma was sharply cut off and crowded back. She was unable to overcome the advantage which St. Jeanne gained in the first quarter. The latter made all her own pace and won easily. Some cars of horses will leave here on Monday for Scranton. The shipment will be made up of the following stables: W. A. Keating. I. J. Miles, II. K.
