TEXAS CIRCUIT RACING HAS STARTED. The Texas racing circuit opened yesterday at Shreveport, La., and runs until next Saturday. Fort Worth conflicts with Shreveport from October S to 12, and runs on to October 17. The conflict of original dates at these two meetings could bo only partially reconciled, but the dates as they now stand are satisfactory. Shreveport stakes and purses amount to 5,000 and Fort Worth hangs up 0,000. The Dallas meeting, at the State Fair, opens October 19 and continues thirteen days, to November 2. Close to 50,000 is scheduled in the program. Many good horses are entered for the six stake races to be run at the State Fair this year. San Antonio follows Dallas with twelve days racing, from November 23, and 0,000 in prizes for the winners. Then conies Houston and Beaumont with a week each and 0,000 apiece in stake and purse money. Joseph A. Murphy will have charge of the racing at Dallas and Fort Worth, and possibly at other places in the circuit. M. N. Macfarlan will be in charge at San Antonio.
