AAinner B. e, by Star Shoot Fair Penitent trained by G. C. Baker. AVent to post at 2:00. At post 2 minutes. Start good. Won easily: second and third the same. Dr. Mathews, running to his best form, away fast and hard ridden, followed Macias closely to the stretch turn, from where, standing a drive gamely, he wore Macias down and won going away. Macias broke fast and showed the most speed for a half, but tired slightly in the final drive. Lady Martha broke with the leaders, but was timidly ridden and shuffled far back, then bad to close a big gap and finished fast and gamely. Enlist, also a sufferer from interference, ran a good race. Paul Ruinart was a close con-tonder in the early stages and will improve. Budge AAork had no mishaps. Simon AAeil was almost thrown soon after the start. Sister Polly, favored at the start and well ridden, ran to her best form, forced and. set a fast pace all the way, stood a hard drive gamely and barely lasted long enough to beat Rio Grande. The latter, also favored at the start, ran in close pursuit of the winner all the way and was gradually gaining at the end. Belle Scott was slightly crowded on the first tnrn, but linished gamely and would have won in two more strides. AVoolstone, away in a tangle, closed a big gap after saving ground when coming Into the stretch, but tired a trifle in the last furlong. Miss Alert, almost left at the post and showing soreness, was a distant trailer for a half, but closed a big gap in the stretch aud ran a winning race. Aotlng quit after going a half. Mark Time, badly outpaced early aud away in a tangle, had to go all around the others on the first turn, but moved up with a rush after rounding the stretch turn and won drawing away. Airship ran a good race and was a close contender all the way, but tired slightly in the final drive. -Martins had no mishaps, was away fast, showed the most early speed and raced Zelina into defeat, but tired near the end as if stiil a trifle short. Zelina showed speed, but tired after going a half. Duchess Ollie ran a good race and Cygnet a poor one. Minnehaha can do much better. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to 00 and bought in. Stoner Hill, showing improved form, was a close contender in the early stages and held on well in the stretch. Toboggan set a fast pace and raced Cutter into subjection, but tired near the end. Devout, away poorly, closed a big gap and ran a good race. Cutter quit badly in the last quarter and pulled up sore and lame. Bensonhurst ran fairly well. Black Fox tired in the last quarter. May Jene was close up all the way. but tiring slightly in the stretch. Peoria began slowly, but closed a big gap and runs like a stayer. Cloyne ran poorly and was never a serious factor. Little Osage quit, badly after ruu-ning well to the stretch. Merrywater showed speed. Scratched 71424 Mystitier, 103. The latter was prominent all the way and but for being in close quarters through the first half might have won. King of Troy was in a jam most of the way, came fast when clear in the stretch and finished gamely. Charlatan had no mishaps and tired in the last fluarter. Uncle Henry ran fairly well. Light Note showed improvement and was a forward coutender for the first three-quarters. La-cache ran poorly. Shining Star can do better. The winner was. entered for 00; no bid.
