H. K. KNAPP IS ENTHUSIASTIC. Tells Lexington Breeders That Friends of Racing Have Reason for Feeling Encouraged. Lexington. Ky.. June 9. — H. K. Knapp. Ed Tipton and Roswoll Eldridge. all identified with racing and the breeding industry, the last named being particularly interested in saddle horses, are here for a brief visit. Mr. Knapp. who is a member of the New-York State Racing Commission, lias a number of mares ami young thoroughbreds at Beaumont and Millsfream Stud farms. Mr. Tipton is here in the interest of the yearling sales that will lie conducted by the Fasig Tipton Company at Sheepshead Bay the latter part of this mouth. Mr. Knapp expressed himself enthusiastically over racing conditions in the east. He says that the friends of racing have every reason to feel encouraged over the results of the tirst few weeks of racing on the eastern track-. Mr. Knapp does not believe that conditions similar to those which formerly Obtained will ever be restored and he f«-cls confident that racing will be carried on indefinitely and that many of the changes necessitated by the new conditions will ultimately work to the welfare of the sport.
