TRAFALGAR A GREAT AUSTRALIAN HORSE. The hero of the Australian Tsctcj Club meeting was undoubtedly Trafalgar. He ran on each of the four days. On the first be took the Autumn Slakes, on the second the Sydney Cup. on the third after being interfered with by Lord Nolan, finished third in the Cumberland Stakes, while on the concluding day he accounted for the three-mile race, the Aus-Irali.in Jockey Club Plate. Over this distance the backers on the s|mt. as well as in Melbourne. tiMik Iks view that Lord Nolan would down Trafalgar, but the Melbourne Cup winner was beaten by Neith. as well as Trafalgar. This certainly bears out the opinion that, with a clear run. both Trafalgar and Neith would have beaten Lord Nolan in the uinlier-land Stakes. Whin Trafalgar ran in the Champion Stakes, he cracked up after entering the straight and on that running, three miles locked a trifle too far for Mm. There have been some negotiations for his purchase for India, but the Mitchell brothers, his owners, would now require to be tempted with a very big offer before consenting to part with him.
