Z.phyr was prominent in the running throughout and came away in the last sixteenth. John McCIure began slowly, but gained steadily and finished witli a rush. Woolcasta. showing the most sjieed from the start, set a fast pace for the first half, but tired in the final drive. Mae Henley acted badly at the post and unseated her rider, ran well for a quarter but. going wide, tired in the stretch drive. Placide was in the worst going throughout and failed to show much speed. Billy Pullman, favored by the going, followed Listerine closely and went into the lead on the stretch turn, but lx.re over and slightly impeded Ed Kane in the final furlong, for which he was disqualified. Ed Kane. showing improvement, was a game contender all the way. but could not have beaten the winner. Maid Militant ran far back for three-quarters and came fast in the stretch. Elysium came from a long way back in the last half. Listerine quit badly after setting the pace for three-quarters. Bonebrake ran a bad race. The winner was entered for $: 00: no bid. Charlie Eastman, much the liest in the going, wore Enfield down on the stretch turn and won eased up. Enfield set a fast pace for the first half aud held on well in the closing drive. Console ran fairly well and outstayed Isurv through the last furlong. The latter ran a fast half before tiring. Colmo ran well. Scratched— S2.11 13 Wool Sandals. 11!. Alice, at home in the going, moved up with a rush after going a half and, wearing Cymbal down when a quarter out, won in a canter. Cymbal, showing the most speed, was hard restrained in front for three-quarters, but was not good enough to beat the winner at the weights. The Minks had no mishaps and had to stand a hard drive to outgame Keep Moving. The latter tired after going three-quarters. Kara Avis broke sideways and ran jioorly. Billy Bodemer followed Woodlands closely for a half mile and appeared the winner in the stretch, hut tired near the end. Woodlands set the early pace and held on well. :t I though tiring badly in the last quarto-. Alchemist moved up with a rush in the first half, but tired near the end. Chalice had no mishaps. Richard Reed was always a distant trailer and disliked the stiff goiug. Tim Kelly ran poorlv. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. The latter ran a good race and was gaining at the end. Roseburg II. was dose up for three-quarters, but tired in the last quarter. Fielder went well and Is worth remembering. Ladv Baldur quit after going a half. Donna was never prominent. The winner was entered fee MM; no bid.
