Lavinia Belle, was also a sister to Freeland, both being by Longfellow, from the fine broodmare, Belle Knight. Retrieve, the third winner, was also a capital race rare. Wary second to Inite. Los Angeles, third to Lavinia Belle, and Julia L. and Retrieve all ran third in the American Derby in their respective years and no filly was afterwards ever placed in that great race. English Lady.
